"I’ve been running in Nikes for over 40 years, and the Flyknit 3.0 is undoubtedly the best running shoe I’ve ever had on my feet. My first pair of Nikes was a green and gold Oregon Waffle Racer that I bought in 1973, I believe the first year it was made available to the public. I still have those shoes, and my only regret was that when Pre came to Bend Senior High that year, where I was running cross country for the Lava Bears, I was either too shy or too arrogant to have him autograph those shoes like all my teammates were doing. Smooth move!
Anyway, if you are a reasonably efficient runner or better, and you need a lightweight, flexible shoe that lets your feet work naturally and feels like a sock slipper while at the same time protecting the bottom of your feet, you need to try this shoe. I’ve been a big fan of the 3.0 Frees for many years. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with the model before this one for one reason; I prefer running sock-less in these shoes so that I can better feel my feet on the ground. The first thing I do whenever a new running shoe arrives is remove the bottom liner. The problem with the previous model 3.0 was the extruding material on the inside, underneath the tongue, that rubbed on the top of my foot at the base of the toes. I had to wear socks with the shoe to keep from getting blisters. I haven’t run barefoot in the Flyknits yet because it’s been too cold, but I have walked around in them without socks and thoroughly examined the insides, and I haven’t found any potential issues.
As far as the fit goes, they do run small. I’m normally a 10.5, but I got a size 12 for winter running so I can wear two thin socks to keep my feet warm. I prefer two thins, as opposed to one thick one, because that lets the foot slide instead of causing the one sock to bunch. With the two thin socks, I still have enough room in the toe box to create a warm air pocket, even when the feet swell slightly during long runs. I ran in these shoes on snow in five degree weather and my toes stayed warm. I have an average width foot, and the shoe is wide enough in the toe box to allow me to spread out my toes in more of a barefoot action. I will be ordering a size 11 to use barefoot once the weather warms.
Another difference between the Flyknit and the previous 3.0, besides the sock-like upper, is the sole. This shoe has much narrower grooves and more of a crisscross pattern as opposed to its predecessor. The disadvantage to this is that it doesn’t grip as well in the snow. But the big advantage is, if you wear the shoe on trails or gravel roads as well as pavement, you don’t get nearly as many rocks or snow clumps in the grooves. I have a Mortons Toe, and if the sole of the shoe is too stiff the toe goes to sleep during runs and I have to take off the shoe and beat the toe back awake to stop the burning before I can run again. Even with the smaller toe grooves, the Flyknit is still flexible enough that this hasn’t been an issue.
I appreciate the fact that the Flyknit comes in white. Ever since I watched Billy “White Shoes” Johnson run for the Houston Oilers, I’ve always felt faster in white running shoes.
I cannot testify to the durability of the shoe because I haven’t put enough miles on them yet, but I am really hard on running shoes, (there is no surface or slope I won’t attempt to run over), and I’m a fairly big guy at 6 feet and 180. I haven’t had any problems or noticed any unusual wear points thus far. I will be ordering several back-up pairs just in case I go through them quickly, which I don’t foresee. I hate it when my favorite shoe is discontinued and I don’t find out until it’s too late to stock up. And this has quickly become my all-time favorite running shoe."

"I was always plagued with different injuries and decided to look in to minimal trainers after running in the most heavy, rigid, supportive trainers as advised by a running gait analyst for the past few years. After 2 months of getting used to the free 3.0 trainers, you really can feel the ground beneath you, I became more light on my feet and my running style changed dramatically. Since swapping to these 2 years ago I am injury free (touch wood) and have achieved pb's at 5k, 10k, 10 mile and half marathon. Need I say more. Thanks Nike!"

"I had these for about a week and I must say that I am very impressed. I found that in the past I usually had to break in all new Nike sneakers but that wasn't the case with these Flyknit 3.0. They fit like a glove right out of the box. I sized up based on the pervious reviews. They are not only perfect for running, but great for deadlifts, and squats.I loved these so much that I ordered a second pair in a different color and the male version for my gym buddy. I am a bit worried that with the soft material they might not last very long. So it's 4 stars for now."

"I have 2 pairs of these shoes (bought at different times) as well as the original Free Flyknits. There was a significant improvement on fit and comfort from the original and now these are the most comfortable shoes I've own by far.
I am a very active person. I work out 5-6 days a week doing cross-training, HIIT, lift weights, and run at least 3 miles each run. These shoes are so versatile and move well with my workouts. They feel so light on my feet that I am able to move much quicker and land softer. I do not wear socks with them because I like how they hug my feet already. And I don’t use the laces at all. I think they've been in the same knot for months. Although, I wouldn’t wear these for runs longer than 3 miles. I use my Lunarglides that have a thicker sole and more support.
I’ve gotten so many compliments on these shoes, especially the orange/crimson color. I would buy this forever if Nike never replaces the fit."

"Love the fit and flexibility of Flyknit! This is my first Flyknit shoe and have to admit I love it. Also my first 3.0 Free shoe as well and I am hooked on the ride. I suffer from extreme inversion of my left ankle and require a shoe with a very natural ride in order to run and this shoe fits that bill."

"I bought last version and I was very pleased. I thought over the time the first pair/knit will stretch out, but after 6 months of running (casual 1-2 hours each time), body combat and body pump few time a week, still in great condition. The pair fits like glove and moves like running socks. This new version, It really improved on every ways not only the look. Fit right but not too snug like last version. Sole moves much better than last version. Zigzag pattern is simple (love it). Only thing I miss from last version is set of shoe lace loop since the pair is not crazy snug this version. Got stress fracture on my right big toe few years ago, the flyknit style keeps me active without stress on my toe."

"By far the Lightest and most Comfortable tennis shoes Ever! I had purchased two pairs of the previous generation and am disappointed I didn't purchase more. I got this pair and although I prefer the previous style, the fit was too fantastic for me to pass up. I have narrow feet, so for me, these are excellent! These shoes are not only great for workouts but they are great for day to day use and especially for traveling. One of my toes was injured at the gym by a careless squatter and sandals aren't a good option any longer. These shoes provide support and are easy to slip off. When going through the different check points at the airports, these pairs don't slow me down at all. The only bad thing I would say about this shoe is that the top around my ankle area is a bit snug and since my legs are skinny, i think for those with normal built legs, this might be an issue. Am hoping with wear, this will improve."

"This is my 4th pair of nike free 3.0s.
I think the sole has improved lots over previous versions, and I was totally optimistic about the flyknit upper. Far fewer rocks are getting stuck in the sole than before. I was hoping the shoe would feel cooler on my feet than previous versions, but I was surprised at how thick and warm the material is!
The last few years have been a little rough, with tight heels, to the point where I didn't even purchase the 2012 and 2013 versions. These heels are stretchier, so it's way easier to put them on, but they really dig in, and can cause incredible achilles pain after a while. Except for that one issue (and the warmth), These are fantastic shoes, and I was hoping to use them for fall races. But I'll have to figure out how to stretch out the heel if I'm going to make that happen! I never would have guessed flyknit material could be so stiff!"

"These shoes are very light and supportively cushioned but fit differently on my feet. They are comfortable as can be on my left but it presses against my achilles on my right foot about where the flyknit lower meets the stretchy collar. I have several pairs of different flyknits and seem to have the same problem. Sometimes it's the right. Sometimes it's the left. I have tried wearing socks with them but that just makes it worst. Is there any way to stretch out the lower just a bit to alleviate the pressure? I guess I should try on several pairs of the same size in store and swap to make a comfortable pair."

"FLEXIBLE, COMFORTABLE, SHOCK ABSORBER:
I bought these shoes for the bottoms, which are the BEST thing about them. The sole is super flexible and the impact absorption is fantastic for high impact, high intensity dance fitness. I can turn on a dime and my knees don't hurt.
NOT ENOUGH STRUCTURE:
I love the look of the knit but after wearing them to three Zumba classes it loosened just enough to make me uncertain of my footing for salsa and balance training moves. I'm not sure if I should size down, or look for a shoe with the same bottom and a more structured upper, but I'm giving these shoes to my mother who wears a full shoe size larger than me.
If your feet pronate in or outward, you might hurt yourself in these shoes.
MY SHOE SIZE INFO:
Normally I'm a size 8 in regular shoes. Previous experiences with Nikes put me in a size 9. So I bought these in a 9. My mother tried them on (she wears a 9 regularly), and she loved the fit.

"Initially I was quite skeptical about the look of this shoe as it looks quite different from other trainers... However, as soon as you put it on it looks just like any other, and it's ten times more comfortable. No annoying tounge, no tying and untying shoelaces, no slipping at the back and just a perfect fit. Best shoe I've ever had.
It also packs real flat and doesnt occupy half your gym bag like every gymshoe before it did!

"I don't run but I do different types of exercise. These are the most confortable shoes I ever had (even more than mi Nike Air). They are so light you forget you have them on. The material es espectacular, it feels like they hug your feet. They are great for warm weather because you feel like you don't need to wear socks (I didn't try that yet) and the actual material is light and...breathable. I was a little worried because they are a little to wide (I have very skinny legs) but when I actually put them on they look fine. They do run half size small if you are going to wear socks. If not, I think it would be ok. Thank you Nike!!!"

"Hi everyone - As others have said, these run quite small.
I'm an 11 women's but have to size up for exercise/running shoes usually to 11.5. Based on reviews, I went up another size and bought these in women's 12 and a men's 10.5, planning to return one. Comparing the insoles, there is no noticeable difference in width or location of arch. (Nike - feel free to comment if I'm wrong on that.) The men's 10.5 are just a centimeter or two longer at the top than the women's 12.
These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! I use them at the gym not to run longer distances and they are great for engaging the muscles of the feet and lower legs."

These shoes have given me the Aha moment in understanding that this could even be a comfortable endeavor not just a healthy activity. I am so excited about this shoe that I mention them to everybody I can. I actually feel like I am walking barefoot with pillows attached to my soles. The shoe cradles my foot comfortably and there is no banging of my toenail, which has caused me problems in the past. Thank you"
